MOH and Best Man

Jade is one tough cookie, a great mom, and a whiz kid (she majored in nuclear engineering and management). We were housemates for more than a year in Tokyo. I'm so thankful I had someone beside me who was strong and caring at the same time, when the last few months of thesis writing became really tough on the body and spirit ('loved our midnight cookouts and instant meals in the dead of winter :) ).

"Tickle me, Madame Kitty"

AJ is a serious runner who studied urban engineering on the side while staying in Japan...ok, that was a joke :). A true-blue Ilonggo famous for his not-so-excellent grasp of Tagalog (ang "pating" ay batang pato; "mapait ang mata", and lots, lots more). I sometimes fondly called him "apo", and he returned the gesture with an SMS sent much later in the Philippines with the beginning line: "Bago ang lahat, mano po." Well,it would be really great to have someone like him for a grandchild someday...

The first time AJ saw fish get grilled alive. Clearly no trauma.
